The SUILC is pleased to announce that Keenan McCarthy, has been hired for the new SUILC position of Métis Community Engagement Coordinator!
Keenan McCarthy is the past President of the Nova Métis Heritage Association: a Surrey based organization. He has been actively participating in Métis organizations across Metro Vancouver. In 2019, he was recognized by the Métis Nation of BC (MNBC) as a role model and leader.
Keenan will facilitate Métis specific community engagement through the SUILC’s Skookum Lab: An Indigenous social innovation project. When asked about his new position, Keenan replied “I want to work hard to have Metis voices part of the conversation and recognized in Surrey.”
